Asynchronous Courses FAQ
Q: What is the difference between asynchronous and synchronous classes?
Asynchronous classes provide an “anywhere-anytime” option for proactive learners. These classes allow for self-directed and self-paced learning. However, a teacher remains available to assist you every step of the way. Since the format lacks live lectures, students do not need to set a specific time for class each week. This flexibility supports your ability to balance studies with other commitments. Overall, asynchronous classes cater to diverse learning styles while offering necessary guidance.
Synchronous classes feature instructor-led courses with live lectures conducted via video conferencing. Students must attend these meetings according to the designated class schedule. This structure promotes real-time interaction and engagement, allowing students to ask questions immediately. As a result, learners benefit from direct support and collaboration with their peers. This format suits those who thrive in a structured environment with set times for learning. Overall, synchronous classes create a dynamic learning experience through live participation.
