Your Course of Study Matters.

Align it to your college goals to maximize your success.

What is my Course of Study?

Proof of a serious candidate

Imagine telling someone you intend on being a computer science major for college. Most people should take your word for it. Now suppose this person wants to get to know you a little more and says, “That’s great! What are some things you’ve done that got you interested in this field?”

Don’t you think you’d want to give a clear answer? The truth is, your college application is a version of this kind of a conversation. Your Course of Study represents not just the courses you took, but also indicates the kinds of challenges you’ve taken up. The real question you’re answering is this…

“How does your education prove that you are a serious candidate for this field?”

So that’s it? I just pick the right classes?

That’s just one piece of the puzzle. A powerful Course of Study needs to fit the candidate, differentiate the student from their peers, and show sufficient levels of challenge that the school expects. But how will you be able to differentiate yourself when you’re in a big public school where everyone takes the same path?

You’ll have a really rough time doing so.

The key is access to the right classes. Your public institutions don’t do you any favors in this regard, because they will focus on what fits the general population of students. On the other hand, you need the personal touch to stand out.

Am I just stuck in competition then?

Most definitely not. Legend College Preparatory helps students do two things:

1. Get more done, more efficiently, than other students.

2. Gain access to the kinds of courses that can differentiate them.

We help you get extra courses done year-round, whether it’s the traditional school year (Sept – May) or in our six-week summer session. You’d be surprised at how much more you’re able to accomplish with just a bit more support from LCP.
