The Pre-AP Program is a program that is offered to schools through the College Board. The program is a series of academic courses designed to align with the AP curriculum, with an emphasis in Math, Science, and Language Arts. The program is open to all students, regardless of their education level and are not Honors or AP courses. The courses allow students to dive deeper into a few core topics of each subject to prepare students for AP level work in the future. Students can start the Pre-AP program as early as middle school and will receive high school credit upon completion. Here are some benefits to taking Pre-AP courses.
- Earn High School Credits in Middle School: Rich content and structured framework help prepare students to comfortably gain small steps to get ahead of the curve. It creates an opportunity for middle school students to start earning high school credits while they are preparing for high school courses at honors and AP levels.
- Learning Checkpoints Motivate Learning: Ensure students are on track with their studies. It also allows students to see their own achievements and thus becomes a strong motivator.
- Learn Like a Real Scientist: Labs and projects embedded in the curriculum challenges students to draw conclusions through a scientific process. Learning goes beyond the retention of content. It fosters students’ critical thinking to apply the learned concepts to real-world scenarios.
- Easy Progress Tracking: Each student has a personal account where learning content and results are clearly presented. Parents can monitor course progression and have easy access to track student progress.
