LCP’s Middle School Program and Pre-AP Courses (see Pre-AP Courses) provide the ideal stepping stones for students to prepare for a customized academic track. Courses such as Pre-AP Algebra I, Pre-AP Geometry, and Pre-AP Biology lay the groundwork for students aiming to specialize in STEM, AI, and Engineering fields.

How It Works

1️⃣ Identify the Student’s Academic & Career Goals

A meeting with LCP’s Academic Dean and an industry expert helps define the focus area of the customized track.
Career fields can range from Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Environmental Science, Business Analytics, or any other specialized field.

2️⃣ Develop the Knowledge Base & Course Framework

The expert committee determines the core knowledge and skills necessary for college and career success in the chosen field.
The academic framework ensures depth in subject matter expertise, not just breadth.

3️⃣ Curate a Curriculum of 5 Advanced Courses (50 Credits Total)

The academic track consists of five 10-credit courses, designed to challenge and engage students.
Not all courses need to be created from scratch—existing AP, post-AP, or UC-approved courses can be incorporated.
If needed, new advanced courses will be developed, ensuring alignment with college expectations and industry trends.

LCP offers over 20 AP courses (see AP Courses), as well as post-AP coursework, such as:

Linear Algebra
Multivariable Calculus
Differential Equations
Vector Calculus
Introduction to Algorithms

These advanced courses can be included as part of the Signature Academic Track, allowing students to push beyond standard high school curriculum expectations.

The committee will review student progress regularly and make adjustments as necessary, ensuring the curriculum remains aligned with emerging academic and industry standards.
