Marvin has an AA in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences from Cal State East Bay and a BA in History Education from San Jose State University. He has been with Legend for 1 year and chose to teach at Legend because he really liked how the school is centered around student learning. While Marvin enjoys a lecture-style approach to teaching, he likes to engage with his students during class time, making them agents of their own learning.

Marvin encourages his students to do well, not for the sake of passing an exam or doing well in the class, but for the sake of setting themselves up for future academic success. The best thing about teaching for Marvin is watching his students grow academically and personally. When he is not teaching, Marvin likes to travel, cook, read, work out and volunteer in his community.
