Legend College Preparatory is a fully accredited school under the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). There are benefits conferred to students because of this fact.

What this means for you:

Students enrolled at LCP can access courses that fulfill their high school graduation requirements and prepare them for a successful transition to higher education. Advanced Placement (AP) coursework is also available. Upon completion of courses, students can request transcripts (listing earned grades and credits) that are used in the college application process. All coursework at LCP is also UC a-g approved.

Why it’s important to understand what accreditation provides:

The power of your education at Legend College Preparatory comes from the fact that we are accredited as a private school. That’s why you, as the student, are able to gain the benefits of grades, credit, and a verifiable transcript recognized by colleges and universities.

This is not the same as supplementary education programs, which may be accredited by WASC, but cannot give you the same benefits. Supplemental education does provide enrichment, but not a fully credited course. When you sign up for any program, it is good to check for this difference so you remain fully aware of what you are (or are not) getting!
